Putting in at the Lower Nome Creek Campground, less than a three hour drive from Fairbanks, you can paddle for three weeks without passing under a bridge. This uncrowded and scenic stream flows by the rugged limestone ridges of the White Mountains National Recreation Area, which offer wonderful vistas and good hiking.
