A River Runs Through It

A River Runs Through It won the 1993 Academy Award for Best Cinematography. However, neither the Blackfoot River, where the book is set, nor the Gallatin River, where most of the fishing scenes were shot, are protected in the National Wild & Scenic Rivers System. Efforts are underway to protect part of the Gallatin River through the Montana Headwaters Legacy Act, currently in Congress.
