Big Marsh Creek meanders through a rare high-mountain marsh to its confluence with Crescent Creek. The upper portion of the river is in the Oregon Cascades National Recreation Area where there are great opportunities for viewing scenery and observing wildlife.

Geology

A glacially formed lake filled with sediment to form the marsh. This provides a unique opportunity for students of geology and geomorphology to study important aspects of glaciation. 

Scenery

The extensive high elevation marsh is combined with diverse vegetation that is found nowhere else within the geographic region.
